Any changes will be announced at the rehearsals and communicated to the email list.
-
If the choir is too large for the library room, a new location will be announced through the email list.
-
Please sign up for the email list if you want to know what's going on.
WHO CAN SING WITH THE CHOIR?
-
Anyone with a good attitude who loves to sing.
-
All ages.
-
Families and friend groups encouraged.
-
Please share this opportunity with anyone you think might be interested.

WHO IS LEADING THE CHOIR?
-
Rich & Lydia Crouch are leading this group.
-
They have been leading a large variety of performance opportunities in this community for many years.
-
Rich (Mr. C.) is a retired elementary music specialist from the Stanwood/Camano School District.
-
We will be singing with background tracks that he created for his student choirs.
-
If you ever sang in one of his groups or attended a "Winter Holiday Program", you'll recognize this music.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
-
Camano Commons has been hosting a Christmas tree lighting for about 5 years. We are joining with them to give members of the community a chance to join together to do something wholesome and family friendly for the best celebration ever!
-
Wouldn't it be awesome to show up with 100 community members joining together to celebrate the joy of Christmas through publicly singing some of its music!

IS THIS A SERIOUS PERFORMANCE?
-
It will be serious fun which tends to make great music!
-
We'll be providing a QR code that will allow the audience to sing along.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
-
Totally FREE.

WHAT WILL WE WEAR?
-
There are no costumes or uniforms, but Santa hats are welcome!
-
Gloves, scarfs, and hats are also great.
-
It is outside! Dress for the weather.
-
If it is raining, you're welcome to bring an umbrella.
-
Please do NOT wear anything that lights up or blinks. We want the attention to be on the lights of the tree.

WILL THERE BE SHEET MUSIC OR LYRICS?
-
The lyrics will be available on electronic devices.
-
There will be a PDF of the lyrics on our website if you want to print copies for yourself.
-
There will not be any sheet music (music with notes).
-
Most of the choir will be singing the melody line. '
-
If choir members hear harmony parts, they will be welcome to add them.

DO WE HAVE TO MEMORIZE ANYTHING?
-
Nope.
-
You will be welcome to view the lyrics on your phone when we are rehearsing as well as when we are performing.
-
Obviously, no texting or other stuff on your screen though. Phones will need to be on "do not disturb" and ringers off. You would be surprised what can happen if you don't do this! LOL
WHAT SONGS ARE WE SINGING?
Our song list may include:
-
"Deck The Halls"
-
A medley called "I Love Snow" that includes parts of "Let It Snow", "Frosty the Snowman", and "White Christmas"
-
"Do You Hear What I Hear"
-
"Christmas In The Northwest".
-
If the group is willing, we may attempt Mr. C's arrangement of "Silver Carol of the Bells". It's challenging, but sounds so good when it comes together (and doesn't fall apart).

WILL THERE BE ANY SOLOS?
-
Possibly (If we can get the mic situation figured out.)
-
Auditions for solos will be open only to singers who come to the rehearsals.
-
Soloists can be any age.
-
More details about this will be announced at the first rehearsal and in an email.

IS THE PERFORMANCE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?
-
YES!
-
Free admission
-
You are welcome to invite anyone you'd like.

CAN CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN THIS?
-
YES! However -
-
The rehearsals and the performance are NOT a drop off event for children and youth.
-
Everyone must have someone who drives stay at each rehearsal and the performance with them. The driver will not be required to sing, but they need to be present for any announcements.
-
When the rehearsals are over, the room will be locked and everyone will go outside.
-
There will be no supervision for children waiting to be picked up, because there won't be any children waiting since their adult will be there with them the whole time! (You get the picture.)
