AFFIRMATIONS ANYONE?

Updated: Sep 11, 2019

(Free Template at the end of this post.)

This is an invitation, a dare, a gift, a coax...whichever motivates you best. But honestly, it is totally up to you.

For the next 30 days (and probably beyond) I am going to read these affirmations OUT LOUD.

I'm not going to have any expectations as to any specific outcome, but I DO have anticipation!

Why? Well, because I was memorizing these verses in Proverbs 4

23Above all else, guard your heart,

for everything you do flows from it.

24Keep your mouth free of perversity;

keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

I don't memorize a lot of scripture unless I can sing it somehow, but this one kept cropping up. As I worked on that second verse, I naturally thought of cussing, complaining, gossip. Then a weird thing happened. I would be talking about myself in what I had been taught was "modesty" and people who really, truly know me and love me would say, "Why are you speaking that (negative comment) over yourself?"

It was weird! So one morning I was looking at the verse 24 on my chalk board and the Lord whispered, "keep corrupt talk far from your lips... that includes what you speak over yourself."

ouch...wow...thank you?

So fast forward through 3 different sources of teaching that dared me to agree with God's opinion of me and speak it out loud.

Why out loud? Well, it just makes sense. After all, God is WORD. He created the whole universe by WORD spoken out loud. Studies have been done about how words literally alter the atmosphere! This makes sense to me. If I am created in the image of God, then my words spoken create something.

I'll leave you to think it over.

In the meantime, feel free to copy and paste this quarter fold template to tuck into your purse, or bible or kitchen drawer. Send copies to friends. Whatever! This is an experiment, but I'm excited about it.

Print out the image. Then fold in half the short way (print side out). Then fold in half again to make a quarter fold card. :)

I hope this blesses you!

love,
