I normally wear paint clothes to the studio, but I knew I wouldn't be painting today. I decided to care a little. Felt better but not like an artist. Would like to get some pretty art clothes.
perceived as: someone who worked and ran The Loft but not obviously as the creator/painter. Interesting. logical.
I had to do an abundance exercise. Go to a high end clothing store and just shop. I couldn't wait to get out. The clothing was gorgeous but I was torn between good design and fair trade. I was completely overwhelmed.
Slow fashion makes sense. Buy well. Buy less. Look better. But I want to do that fair trade. You can order top brands on line, but you pay for returns and I am VERY hard to fit so I can't just order online like my favorite youtube icon does.
Arrrrgh.
This is a real mental battleground for me.
Ah hah moments: I appreciate good design and I loved having my color palette and my list with me. Boutique stores are a better fit.
My relationship with money and things growing up: I was naturally very savvy and new what I wanted. I loved saving up for it and looking at the picture of it until I could afford it.
But money was tight. We shopped outlets. Still my dad liked nice things. They practiced slow fashion, but I thought it was BORING.
New ideas to adapt: buy slow fashion, but add some trend items to make it vibrant and current.
