LIVING LIGHTLY: Day 10 Sad is not a sin

Writer's picture: Lydia CLydia C

We stayed home. It was cold and rainy. I fixed our annual strawberry pie with local Washington strawberries.

I'm itching to go outside in summer weather. It's been in the 50's. Argh.

But overall, I'm itching for something I can't scratch. No idea what it is, but this was our last day with Davis.

This was a trip on the down low. He desperately needed rest. In the last six months, he's been on at least 27 flights and at least 5 countries.

I'm sad today.

My friend Hope is moving. Rich is retiring and we say goodbye to the only lifestyle we've known as a couple. Davis leaves and I am tired.

Being sad is not a sin. These are precious people we won't get to see as much.

We ended the day with Davis playing piano and worshipping. What more could a mom wish for?

One way to look at it is that tomorrow is the beginning of a whole new journey. Let the adventure begin.

love,

Lydia
